Solar heating
With solar heating, a liquid (made of a mixture of water
and non-environmentally damaging anti-freeze) collects heat and deposits
it in storage for use domestic use. The heat is collected using panels
that are placed on the roof for maximum exposure.
Solar heaters are made from silicon, just like all other solar
panels. Silicon has a unique ability that allows electrons to move freely
and randomly along it. Junctions (made of other materials) must be placed
on the silicon to direct the electrons into a usable current.
The initial cost of solar heating is high (purchasing and installation),
which may scare people away from investing in the energy. However, the
cost of conventional energy (gas, coal, oil) will only increase while
solar remains the same – making it an economical choice.
