Solar hot water
Solar hot water is the cleanest, most environmentally-friendly
option for homeowners. The process is fairly simple: thermal collectors
(located on the roof of a home) absorb the sun’s rays and transfer
the energy/heat to the point of usage via a fluid system.
For those who live in geographically-warm areas, solar hot water is
the most economically-efficient option. A conventional heating system
(that most of us have) uses an equivalent of 11 barrels of oil a year,
which is about the same amount as a small, 4-door sedan.
Besides curbing CO2 emissions (the most prominent greenhouse gas),
solar hot water saves owners 30-50% on their electric bills. In many
areas, there are also government incentives to switch over to solar
power.
