Solar panels
Every solar product relies on solar panels – planes
made of silicon. Silicon has a unique property that allows electrons
to become delocalized, or allowed to move around freely. However, on
a plain piece of silicon, electrons move around randomly and without
direction, so there must be junctions in the panel.
A junction is a piece of material built in that will either attract
or repel an excited electron; either way, the junction forces directionality
to the electrons. When electrons are directed in a certain way, it creates
a current, giving solar panels the ability to power our products.
What products can be powered with solar panels?
• Calculators
• Radios
• Garden/outdoor lights
• Heaters
• Pool pumps
